Does Money Have a Place Inside Self-Actualization?

(These words will take you somewhere. Follow them till the end?)

Money money money money (rockin’ everywhere… oh, wrong lyrics. 😉)

I need more money…want more money…more money, please!

I know most of us don’t talk like that. But, somewhere deep in the recesses of our soul, we’re thinking — if only I had more money all my problems would be solved. At least most of them.

When I have more money I’ll…

👉🏼 Invest in myself. Experiences, pleasures …Trainings, coaching. I’ll finally have the budget for ME.

👉🏼 Be able to get the gym membership, the personal trainer & finally get consistent with my work outs. (🎶 I work ouuuttt… 💪🏼) It’s too tough right now to just “wake up early” and do it by myself.

👉🏼 Buy the healthy, organic food. I’ll even meal prep and plan and have the cute stickers in my cute journal, and the food situation will be on lock.

👉🏼 Actually enjoy my time off 🤩 🏖 No more dreading going back to work because I’ll have “plenty” and the demand just won’t be there.

👉🏼 Spend more time with the things and people I love. I’ll take off early some afternoons, have long weekends and pick up some hobbies and creative endeavors I know I’d enjoy.

👉🏼 Feel lighter. More free. I'lll have more S P A C E to float about and just “be.”

Most people do not claim with words that money is the “solution” but we carry a vibe with us that says: Once I have the money handled, then I’ll ______.

Let’s talk about “having the money handled.”

First of all: What does that even mean? No debt? More income? No surprise bills? No car repairs needed ever again? What about having your retirement secured? What if you end up living 20 more years than you anticipated?

But second of all: If we keep waiting for one thing, to be with another thing, we’re going to spend our whole life waiting.

There is something for you to be with right now.
And that’s what there is to be with.

And when you’re honest with yourself you actually just know what it is.

You know when you’re scrolling, and your higher self is like — No. Nope, nope, nope. That’s not what we’re doing right now.

You know when you’re going for another glass of wine, or stuffing down the last of the fries or reaching for the donut, and your higher self is like — Uhm, hello? What are we doing here?

And you know the same thing happens around money. You work hard for what you make, and you feel like you know what there is to do with it. No need to really examine the motives or the energy — as long as it looks good on paper, right? And higher self is like — Hey, there’s a better way.

But we stay so distracted we barely even hear that Self. We’re just trying to make it through another day. Trying to get by. Easy does it, we think. Don’t get too crazy, now.

There is a Voice. And it is speaking to you about the way in which to go.

But most humans are still operating inside a pretty static-filled channel, and the Voice that is trying to lead just isn’t coming in that clear.

Before we go off making plans and trying to create our grand visions “by the book” or in some logical form — wouldn’t it be best if we did the work around tuning into the Voice?

The Voice is what knows best for all-time, not just for now-time.
The Voice is your future Self who knows where this whole thing is going and is trying to make itself known, so you can live more aligned. More true. More whole.
The Voice is not interested in protecting your ego, your personal identity or your accomplishments. It’s not interested in having you look good and be right.

The Voice is only interested in you remembering who you really are.
The Voice is only interested in your Self-realization which inevitably becomes Self-actualization.

Being able to clearly distinguish the Voice from the noise of the mind, then, is the first thing there is to do.  Because it knows best.

It’s what you want anyway. If you’re honest….You really just want to live fully. You want to have the deepest peace, the most grounded certainty. You want to know you are exactly where you’re “supposed” to be.

This isn’t apathy. It’s not resignation. And it’s definitely not laziness.

No, quite the opposite. Presence. Acceptance. Awareness. Peace. These are powerful, powerful ways of being.

What you want comes into view clearly, front and center, when you choose to face reality instead of your own illusory stories.

See, the Voice exists only in Reality. It is the Truth. And It is All That Is.

And it’s yours. It’s you. Once you begin observing, you notice — all that other stuff, the static, the fog, the confusion, the pain, the suffering, the chaos — it’s all a story you had believed and taken on as your own.

And now you get to relax into Reality.

What does this have to do with money?

Everything. Because everything is everything. You and your life? You’re just one big ball of ENERGY.

Money is where most of our stories seem to begin.

Don’t have “enough?” We’re tight. It’s tight. Everything’s tight. We’re suffering. Hard to get along with, talk with or really do anything with. Just have to get out of this situation, and then we can feel better.
Have “enough?” We’re okay. All’s well. Live and let live! Eat drink and be merry.

And up and down the rollercoaster goes. Don’t be fooled by time, either. It’s a facade...
For some the pain of “not having enough” comes up every month and subsides as soon as they get paid.
For others, it comes up once a year when they spend too much at Christmas or take the family on the annual vacation.

For others, it hits when the stock crashes or the kids need help or a diagnosis gets made.

When the sales don’t come in or the employees quit or just… life!
What if you could release the tightness and never feel it again, regardless of circumstances or situations?
What if you could be fully present, relaxed and grounded, always?
What if peace was your energy? Clarity was your power?

What if a steadfast following of the Voice was all you ever concerned yourself with, knowing It will lead you to your Self? That Self, by the way, is the most relaxed, vibrant, creative, love-filled Self ever!

It’s possible. It is the work of our life because it’s the work no one else can do for you.

Self-honesty, self-awareness, self-acceptance — these are the foundation pieces to put into place. Ultimately, the path leads to self-realization.

A realized Self. An understood Self. A recognized Self.

That Self, fully seen, will actualize. Here, in form. Your human existence will be exactly as it was originally designed to be. You will play full on, with no regrets, no apprehensions, no hold backs, no take backs.

Just You shining You.

The Wish for Guilt

It’s a very real thing in our world that we have masses and masses of people who actually want someone to be guilty. They want someone to be wrong. They simply are committed to someone, somewhere — or something, somewhere — not working.

And by not working, there is a divisiveness in place. A separation between what works and what doesn’t. The possibility — the probability — the inevitability! — that for someone to be right, there must be someone wrong.

Can we look just for a moment at the absolute ludicrousness of this statement?

How is that that for someone to be right, for something to be right — that someone or something must be wrong?

We carry around a wish for guilt. It is engrained into the program of our world. This world is simply not our home, and yet the way we treat it is as if it is. This simple denial of reality is the foundational reason our entire experience is upside down. We perpetuate it with the children we raise. We perpetuate it in the conversations we have. We perpetuate it with ourselves — blaming ourselves, ridiculing ourselves, shaming ourselves, judging ourselves, rearing ourselves inadequate, inept and insufficient.

Something is missing.
Something is broken.
Something needs fixed.

It is as if we wouldn’t know what to do with ourselves if all was well, perfect and already complete.

If we weren’t spending our time, energy and attention on trying to “fix” things all of the time, we may actually have to face our real Self and… Create! Be! Love!

It’s easier to say we want a better world while simultaneously holding out our wish for guilt than to actually have to BE who we really are — perfectly perfect embodied conscious, divine, all-consuming energy.

The wish for guilt gives us reasons to stay small. It gives us reasons to try to play it safe. It gives us reasons to tinker with this thing and mess with that thing instead of taking on the expression of perfection — where all is well, always. Where nothing is missing, and nothing is broken and here, in this moment, the wish is for peace.

Will we let our wish be for peace?

Once it is our wish, it is ours to have. Thought it will take what it takes to experience it…Letting go of everything that’s keeping us from it.

Let’s start with choosing to let go of the wish for guilt.
Let’s start with choosing to let go of the need for someone to be wrong.
Let’s start with choosing to let go of the attachment to there always be a "problem.”

What if the only thing between here and there, what we have and what we want, is our perception that this gap is actually real?

It can’t hurt to try.

What it takes to live in peace

As a 20-something, “peace” wasn’t really at the top of my core values.

Adventure. Experience. Passion. Fun. But peace? No, thanks. I’ll be peaceful in my later years.

But the more self-reflection I did, the more I realized I was setting up a construct of peace “or” something else. Somewhere along the way I had embraced the belief I could either have a good time in life, with the turmoil that may bring, or be peaceful. As if peace was something that automatically meant a boring, mundane, meaningless life.

So for years I chose adventure and turmoil, because I couldn’t even see how “peace” could be a good time.

I’ll save the long story for another day, but to put it simply: You prove yourself right every time. And I proved myself right time and time again that I couldn’t live a life of adventure and be at peace. Instead, I would live my life of “adventure” and experience dramatic high highs and low lows. I’d get into the darkest of times where, in that moment, I’d trade almost anything for peace…except my sense of living.

So, to move on, I’d deny whatever that dark time was, and get back to living — knowing turmoil was around the corner, in any moment.

I’m grateful to have done the work of self-reflection and really work because I now know that I can live in peace and have my life be as adventurous and meaningful as I choose for it to be. I can have it all. Truly.

This kind of peace though — the kind that is real and powerful, the kind that allows you to keep living your expansive life while keeping you in its state — is earned.

It’s earned every time we exchange being “right” for what works.
It’s earned every time we let go of one way to find THE way.
It’s earned every time we choose to abandon that which kept us from it. 💗

When Do We Talk About Peace?

Take a closer look at the conversations happening in our world and “peace” isn’t necessarily at the top of the list.

I’ve sat through my fair share of workshops, lectures and one-on-one conversations revolving around everything from religion, politics, sales & commerce, leadership development, productivity solutions, empowerment mindsets, wealth building, health and wellness living, and mindfulness & spirituality. I’ve read the books and engaged in deeper perspectives around all of these things and continue to do so because the conversations unfolding are creating the experience we have as a civilization.

But one of my favorite questions to ask is: What is not being said here?

And when I consider the communications as a whole, via all the outlets we share, it’s very clear that “peace” isn’t exactly at the top of our conversation lists.

Oxford dictionary defines peace as…
”1. Freedom from disturbance; tranquility. 1.1. Mental or emotional calm.”
”2. A state or period in which there is no war or a war has ended.”

On the surface, we say we want freedom, but I don’t think we even know what we want freedom “from.”

What we want is peace.

Yet by and large, our world operates in a paradigm where peace is impossible. We hold being “right” in higher regard than finding real solutions that work for everyone. We take actions that perpetuate the divide, regardless of the result. We invest ourselves in means that do not work, thinking somehow it will lead to an end that does.

I’m here to let you know: There is another paradigm. And it can be entered into. It is one where peace is not only possible, but is the way to abundance and freedom and whole life. It does require letting go of each of the old ways and thought systems, in order to enter.

Many have already entered and are now extending ways of sharing and spreading this reality. This is not confined to the work of spiritual teachers, meditation practitioners or yoga instructors. This will be the work of every man and woman, in every part of life, in every industry, who has chosen to lead and extend ways that work, ways of peace, for all. Starting with one’s self.

Real Estate, Feelings & the Road to Enlightenment?

Last week I delivered training on being a Conscious Entrepreneur. The premise is simple: Stay awake & aware. Don’t just skid through your life. Use your business as your vehicle to greater self-awareness.

I am confident every entrepreneur took the leap into the unknown for more than external metrics of success.

From my perspective, we decided to do it based on feelings. Feelings of expectation. Excitement. Fulfillment. Passion. Vibrant, radiant energy. Anticipation. Contribution.

Typically, the leap looks more like an all-out free-fall, trusting you’ll learn to fly in the process. Entrepreneurs, and those who stake their success on themselves, have one thing in common: they know they can do it!

“I’ve Got This” is the mantra for many who choose to work for themselves and create businesses. They push for their full potential. They share their truth, their creation and their mission with the world.

Slightly over 4 years ago, I chose real estate sales as my outlet for entrepreneurship.

What I was really deciding was to hold feelings of growth, anticipation, contribution and fulfillment. See, the more you share yourself with the world through a specific service and skill set, the simpler the journey toward enlightenment is.

You begin to use your business as your way of getting to know and grow yourself!

It’s never been about the houses. It has always been about the opportunity. The opportunity to help people get from where they are to where they want to be. The opportunity to grow. The opportunity to be me and give value from that place.

And as I’ve interacted with over 200 clients, I have discovered it’s not about house for them, either. Something deeper drives their decision making. Drives all of our decision making…. Once again, it’s the opportunity to feel a certain way.

At peace. Safe. Proud. Worthy. Loved. Hopeful. Appreciated. Engaged — not missing out. A new beginning.

Whatever or whoever you interact with today in your life and business, take a deep breath and choose to be aware of the feelings. Just for a moment. Take note of the emotions inside of you, emanating from them or simply in the room.

How could you be the conduit to better feelings?

That, my friends, is massive value.
